Catfish fishing lines – strength and abrasion resistance
Catfish line should be chosen for actual load, fishing method and bottom conditions. Breaking strain matters, but so do diameter, abrasion resistance, knot reliability and reel compatibility.
Braid or monofilament?
Braid offers high breaking strength at relatively low diameter and excellent contact, while monofilament provides more stretch and can absorb sudden shocks. Choose according to the method and rig.
Diameter and spool capacity
Thicker line uses more spool space. Compare the actual capacity of your catfish reel with the diameter and length of line you intend to use.
